Intensive Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
